Being a not-so-big Honda enthusiast myself, I actually feel moved after reading her response.

I would agree with most of that. However I disagree about the Honda crowd. I love Honda Motor Co. like I have said before, but I hate the Honda scene. A drastic lack of taste combined with a large portion of the “enthusiasts” that give import cars their ricer reputation. Honda meets make me laugh since there are 20 douche bags for every 1 real enthusiast. I joke with my friends about owning an S2k and never telling anyone, and that is because of the Honda scene. Also anyone that thinks the Honda crowd is passionate should check out the Rennsport Reunion.

I understand your argument but you need to realize that the “Honda scene” exists with EVERY CROWD. I’ve dealt with the 240 crowd, the drift crowd, Muscle car crowd, and I currently deal with the Porsche crowd as a result of work. There are douchebags all across the board. The thing about being passionate about automotive tuning or motorsports is finding that group of people you just CLICK with and APPRECIATING IT.
You don’t have to belong to a crowd but just a small click of people with the same underlying ideals and values. Then and only then can you truly appreciate the passion you share for whatever it is you guys love. The best moments I can recall are from hanging out with like minded people, whether it was a small gtg or a huge track day. As long as douchebags exist, crowds/scenes will always suck. And if you doubt that Porsche has it’s fair share of douchebags, I’ll start recording some phone calls, and track events for you.

Douche bags exist regardless of whether they are car enthusiasts or not. You sound like you’ve been around the scene long enough and I do not see how you can say that the Honda scene doesn’t stand out in ricer bullshit. The last 5 meets I went to that were broken up were due to idiots in Hondas doing burn outs or having rev contests. I’m not saying it is exclusive to them. I’ve seen Miatas, M3’s and 240’s drift at meets or do burn outs. They are just rare when compared to Honda owners. Honda owners are the ONLY ones that pull up to my 911 at meets and hound me to “run them” or pull up next to me on the freeway to race. I’m not active in the Porsche community, but the few events I have attended have had friendly enthusiasts and many were club racers. There was a fair amount of arrogance and douchebaggery, but nothing like what I’ve dealt with at Honda specific meets. I also don’t feel like I’m going to get stabbed at Porsche meets. I have plenty of friends that own various Hondas and track/race them. They are the very small minority in that community though.

Personally….i fucking hate the honda scene…you can call me out since in barely 17 and dont have a car but somethig about the honda scene to me just seems unclassy and to me iv always thought of civics as the stereotypical “ricer” car. Theres so many videos on youtube of retard honda owners. I hope eventually I find a good scene whethor its a porsche scene or the drifting scene. But ill never be associated with the honda scene anytime soon.

Regarding the last comment,

or you can not give two shits about other people and like what YOU like and like cars because you like them. also you cant say you hate an entire ‘scene’ because of how some people act. there is good and bad in every scene. but then again i dont really pay attention to them and just like cars without the headache
